SCHOOL REVIEW PUBLIC CONSULTATION MEETING – TONIGHT – 7:00 P.M. AT MORELL HIGH
Good Afternoon Parents!
We hope to see you all at tonight’s public meeting at the Morell Regional High School at 7pm regarding school change.
While no schools are slated for closure , the recommendations if carried can have significant impact on our school.
Our current school population would drop to approximately 116 students, dropping the schools utilization rate to about 35%.
Concerns have been brought forward by staff and parents at our meetings regarding concerns for what that means for our children/teachers/schools.
In essence we do not have the answers as to what this means however the highlight of concerns have included- What will this do to our student teacher ratios. What about our guidance and resource allotments, the adjustment and transition for our students, the leadership roles currently carried out by our Grade 7/8. What resources would remain for our K-6
Everyone has until mid March to put an online submission in for comments.
However tonight is a night to come together as communities and listen and have our voices heard. Home and school will be presenting a summary presentation based on our home and school meetings.
We look forward to seeing all who are able to attend.
