1. 2015 EXTRA MILE AWARDS

2. Workshops for Members: Identifying issues in education for action
Monday, January 26th – Montague Consolidated School, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday, January 27th – Elm Street Consolidated School, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Thursday, January 29th – Spring Park Elementary School, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
A series of three workshops bringing together home and school members to work together to identify issues in education that would benefit from our attention. The meetings will begin with a brainstorming session to identify the range of issues of concern, and will then collectively select a subset of those issues and break into small groups to identify possible actions, resolutions, or projects that can help to address them. The workshops, which are open to all members and do not require pre-registration; members are invited to attend the meeting nearest to them, and local home and schools are encouraged to invite parents, guardians, teachers, administrators and staff from their schools to attend.
3. RESOLUTIONS are about change
Do you see a need for change in PEI’s education system? The Federation promotes equal
opportunity for all PEI students by passing pertinent resolutions at Annual General Meetings
and then forwarding these to decision-makers who can make changes for the benefit of all
Island students. Deadline to submit resolutions: January 30th, 2015.

5. 2015 TEACHER/STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK February 9-15th
Plan to celebrate teachers and other school staff by forming a planning committee in January.
6. 63rd PEI Home and School Federation Annual General Meeting
The Prince Edward Island Home and School Federation will hold its 63rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, April 11, 2015. All Member Home and School Associations are invited and welcome to attend the AGM. Each Association is asked to designate five of your school’s attendees as voting delegates. Associations are encouraged to include teachers, administrators and staff as delegates.
