Dear students and parents,
We would like to remind parents we will be hosting an evening of literacy activities at Morell Consolidated School on Thursday, Sept. 19th. This event will be held in conjunction with our annual Meet the Teacher Night, and begins at 6:30 with meet and greet in the gymnasium. At 7:00, students will be invited to remain in the gymnasium for a movie night, complete with popcorn and refreshments while parents have an opportunity to participate in various literacy activities throughout the school. Staff members will share a variety of strategies, resources, and general tips to help your children become stronger in the area of literacy and numeracy. There will also be a nutrition snack held in the upper lobby between sessions for parents and staff. For a complete list of literacy sessions being offered, please see the back of the sheet. At the end of the evening, students who attend with their parent(s) will receive a literacy grab bag full of goodies.
We are also excited to announce a used book sale for parents and students that will take place in the school lobby during our literacy night. Time is quickly running out to send in any used books you would like to contribute as we will be selling the books at a very small cost with all proceeds going towards the purchasing of new literacy materials for our school. Any and all donations will be accepted until noon, Thursday, September 19th. Please remember to bring your loonies and toonies with you on the 19th to help support our literacy initiatives.
The staff at Morell Consolidated are looking forward to a great turn out on the 19th. We invite all parents to join us and help celebrate literacy at home and at school. See you there!
